All Roads Lead to Rome: Projecting the 8/25/1987 Top
Here are two of the many roads, three term continuous proportions, leading to August 25, 1987.

This is one of my favorite example charts. Three major bottoms, 1962 - 1974 - 1982 lead to the 1987 top (this example appears several times on the site); and it also shows two major tops, 1968 - 1976, and the 1978 bottom also leading to the 1987 top.
I like to show these two together, because of some subtle differences:
The two tops and a bottom example is an advancing progression with the third term added to the middle (chronological) pivot day. Also, the 1968 -1976 and 1968 - 1978 segments overlap. This is not unusual.
