Introduction to Examples
Projecting Future Ezones (Understanding the Properties of Ezones, in the Concepts Section, defines and explains how to use Ezones.)
Ermanometry analyzes past market action to project future activity, and therefore, Ermanometry is a form of technical analysis.
However, I realize that fundamentals determine the markets' ultimate course. Fundamentals determine direction, but human emotions determine the precise duration and degree of movement. Major moves routinely begin or end without concurrent fundamental events. This is due to constant discounting, anticipation, and the relative degree of fear or greed affecting market participants at any given moment.
Ermanometry works with both price and time. This site concentrates on Ermanometry timing.
Consider the aggregate of human emotions moving a given market as an entity. This entity is open and honest. It makes no attempt to conceal the evidence of its impact upon the market. The market's extreme highs and lows memorialize its emotional shifts, providing a clear history of the entity's emotional path and the exact day of emotional change. Properly analyzed, the distribution of these trail markers reveals consistently evolving, patterns. These patterns provide insight into future market movements.
I strongly urge you to read the following two published articles in the Articles section before reading this examples section:
Precise Projections with Basic Geometry
This article contains geometry examples quite different from those in the Examples section you are now reading. It also contains different examples pinpointing the 2000 tops and the 2002 bottom. This article is only available in PDF (see note in page footer!). Please download it and print it so you can view charts and text simultaneously.
CompoundPivots and Market Symmetry
CompoundPivots and BalancePoints are mentioned many times in various sections of this site. This article is a comprehensive explanation of both of these original concepts. This article may be read on-site, and is also available in PDF.
Many of these examples also make use of the Ermanometry Dynamic Template. If you are unfamiliar with this analytical tool, you should read this short explanation from our Concepts section, The Ermanometry Dynamic Template And Similar Right Triangles, first.
